Lately I have been working long hours, catching up on homework, and honestly, my bedroom hasn't been cleaned in a month. I have found myself losing my joy and feeling stuck, as if every day was exactly the same. I realized that sometimes we have to fight to keep the fire of life alive. This song came about by merging a new chorus with the partial lyrics of an older song I was working on, one about living life at its fullest, and not getting trapped in unsatisfying (yet distracting) things. I hope this song is a fun reminder that God calls us to do great things, and that we need to wake up to serve a hurting world that is desperate for Jesus.
This track is a recording of my performance at Oklahoma Fine Arts Festival, so the audio isn't fantastic, but that's why it's free ;-)

In October 2010, my dad passed away due to liver cancer. Though I was broken-hearted, God showed Himself to be a Faithful Father, a promise-keeper and a provider when we had none. He has healed my heart. I can fully trust Him again, and I no longer blame Him for my past sorrow, but thank Him for carrying me through it.
